The Shamrock Irish Pub now serves bar snacks. Try our new tasty toasties. We also serve probably the most delicious burgers in Albufeira. They are certainly getting rave reviews from our customers:)
We serve all our food with a fresh side salad and relish to give it that extra special taste. Ideal after a strenuous day on the beach or maybe just to refresh your palate before an evening meal. Hotdogs are favourites for the kids and can be easily held in their small hands.
We hope to add more delicious snacks and often have daily specials. Gluten free food is a speciality in our bar, available on request.
Enjoy a snack while watching the sports matches in the relaxing bar – no need to be hungry at The Shamrock!

The surf is up and the beach is busy with about a million student basketball players.

Luke will be quizmaster while Frank is in charge of the bar! Get your thinking caps on! We hope to see seasoned quizzers along with the youngsters. Call in to see us at the bar for a 9pm (ish) start. Move over Mastermind and not forgetting Bob of give me a ‘b’ fame! And who would mess with Ann – ‘you are the weakest link’ fame! Vicky might be a match for her, come along and see for yourself!! Free entry and a prize for the winner:)
Why! How time flys when you are having fun! I really can’t believe that after travelling on the ferry, across Spain and then down into Albufeira, Portugal, in my van, that it is a year since that journey. I left the family – wife, daughers, cat and dog to become bar owner! My opening night was St Patricks night 2011 and the bar was busy and I served Guinness and Magners and whisky galore! Fantastic night. By Easter I was joined by Rose, one of my daughters and she helped each night in the bar whilst having the beach on her doorstep. Hard work but enjoyable! Rose went home before Christmas to get a ‘proper job’!
Christmas and New Year we carried on with the festive spirit and brought in the New Year with friends and holiday makers ready for the coming year of 2012.
Another year on and in my second season I spruced the bar up with a new coat of paint – green of course, and some comfy chairs with seat cushions.
We continue to show all prime sporting events on sattelite tv and get a good crowd which makes a competitive atmosphere.
Live music is popular and if you are a visiting musician we would love to hear you play.
This year we are offering snacks at the bar which Vicky (the wife) will prepare as she is joining me this year full time. She says that as she arrived on St Patricks night she is still in holiday mood!
We look forward to seeing you all again and don’t forget to get in touch by the website or facebook if you just want to let us know you are coming or if you want some local information. We will do our best to help.

Well another year almost over – but luckily still time to visit The Shamrock Irish Bar. We are inviting you to join us for probably the best NEW YEARS EVE PARTY of 2011.
Everyone is welcome to join in the party at The Shamrock Irish Bar with our usual welcome and reknowned LIVE MUSIC!
Don’t miss this night to see in the New Year with just enough time to watch the fireworks on the beach, (just a short walk away) and then a last night cap with Frank and Victoria.
Wishing all our customers a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year for 2012.
The weather is mild as the winter approaches Albufeira. Holiday makers stay for a longer time enjoying the sea air and relaxed feel of the resort. Taking time to enjoy the sea views, coffee bars and the quieter Shamrock Bar gives everyone time to get to know each other.
The Shamrock bar is about to wind down too and will feature Irish football and rugby games during the latter end of the week. All games featured are advertised well in advance allowing you to plan your time.
We are preparing to enjoy the Christmas holiday with family and will remain OPEN every EVENING from 7pm.
Join in probably the best NEW YEARS EVE PARTY, all welcome.
Frank and Victoria. x
There is always plenty going on in Albufeira and throughout the summer there are various organised events and festivals which take place such as concerts on the beach, exhibitions, and celebrations of music and dance, handicrafts and great food. Most recently, at the beginning of September, it was the ‘Festa de Albufeira’ which drew the crowds. This is a religious festival but it is actually one big feast which takes place down by the Fisherman’s beach. Booths providing all kinds of traditional Portuguese cuisine surround rows of tables where everyone can enjoy their food and the atmosphere. I tucked into some roast pig which was cooked on a spit roast and was absolutely delicious!
As well as the seasonal events, there is plenty in and around Albufeira to keep you entertained. Albufeira’s coast is spectacular and if you are a sun seeker the beaches might just be enough to satisfy you. But for those of you who crave more than long days of lounging in the sun, you will find a whole host of water sports to do such as parasailing, jet skiing, banana boats and for the tamer holiday maker, pedalos…with the ingenious addition of a slide on the back!
If the explorer inside you needs some TLC you can always take a boat trip out around the caves and if you’re lucky spot some dolphins, or take a jeep safari up into the mountains. If you want to venture slightly further a field than the main town there are several water parks near Albufeira: Aqualand, Slide and Splash and Zoomarine all guarantee a great day out. The Algarve is also renowned for its golf courses so any golfers will be spoilt for choice and quality.
Albufeira’s main square is the hub of the night time activity. The atmosphere is always positively buzzing here. As well as a great variety of bars, restaurants and shops in the square you will also find live music, artists, caricaturists and hair braiding among other things.
Bem-vindo a Albufeira!
